Our Work
WHAT WE DO
Motivated by the love of God, as a leader in Christian faith-based human services, The Salvation Army is committed to serving the whole person, body, mind and spirit, with integrity and respect, using creative solutions to positively transform lives.
The Salvation Army Harrisburg Capital City Region offers 11 different programs ranging from after school activities for kids to our senior citizens group. At Christmas we reach over 1,800 families and nearly 4,400 children sharing Christ's love, hope and compassion for our neighbors in need.
Over 35,000 people in Dauphin, Cumberland and Perry Counties received assistance from the various outreach programs provided by The Salvation Army Harrisburg Capital City Region during the past year.
The Salvation Army strives to be timely and efficient as it examines and addresses needs within a community. It continues to seek ways to change people's lives by elevating the human spirit through the gift of christian love. We lift people up - get them on their feet - help them grow in all dimensions of life.
