Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

Perhaps you have some immediate questions that are commonly asked by people about The Salvation Army:

“Is The Salvation Army really a church?”

Absolutely!  We are a Bible-preaching branch of the Christian church, and everything we do is motivated by our faith in Jesus Christ.  Our officers (ministers) are pastors who have been ordained as members of the clergy.

“What do Salvationists believe?”

The Salvation Army follows the historical beliefs of the Christian church.  Our doctrinal statement (creed) can be found within this website.

“Why do people in The Salvation Army wear uniforms?”

The wearing of the uniform is one way by which we can express our dedication to Jesus Christ. The uniform also lets those we meet know that a helping hand is available to them.

“How do I get involved?”

There are many ways to worship and serve God through The Salvation Army in Williamsport.  If you don’t see the information you’re looking for in this website, please call our corps (church) office, Monday through Friday, at (570) 326-9187.
