Railton House

Railton House is a single room occupancy (SRO) program and serves as a bridge for gentlemen who have graduated from The Salvation Army ARC program and are transitioning back to independent living.  Our maximum capacity is 7 men and candidates must undergo a rigorous interview process initiated by either The Salvation Army or the Adult Rehabilitation Center to be considered for one of these coveted slots.

Referrals

The Salvation Army has relationships with several community agencies, and we are happy to make referrals on your behalf.  In addition to the referral we will offer any additional social services within our programs as well (i.e. pantry, vouchers, etc.).  Please feel free to call for referrals regarding shelter (Connect Points), job training (OIC), Domestic Violence, Legal Aid, Maternal Child and Health Consortium, CVIM and substance abuse.

The Salvation Army of West Chester Community Meal Program

The Community Meal program serves dinner Sunday through Thursday and Saturdays (except the 2nd Saturday of each month) at 5:00pm in our dining room here at 101 E. Market Street.  It is a hot meal including a main dish, sides and dessert.  Breakfast is served Monday through Thursday at 7:00am.  All are welcome to attend.

Manna from Heaven Pantry

Manna from Heaven is a choice pantry (you make your own selections*). It serves but is not limited to government qualified individuals.  Because most of our food is donated by the Greater West Chester Community, we can serve folks who do not meet government food assistance thresholds. Clients must live in West Chester zip codes 19380, 19381 or 19382.

The Salvation Army of West Chester has maintained a food pantry for over 30 years.  We work with the Chester County Food Bank to receive government subsidized commodities.  In addition to donations from local individuals, we are also the grateful recipients of 3 annual food drives organized by The West Chester Post Office every May, The Boy Scouts of America every November and our own Community Drive every October.  Finally, we work with local businesses (i.e. Entenmann’s, Giant, Wawa, Pete’s Produce and the West Chester Growers’ Market) to receive leftovers and surplus items.

If you or someone you know needs food assistance, please call The Salvation Army at (610)696-8746 and ask for the Pantry Supervisor.
