Forman Mills
partners with The Salvation Army of Greater Philadelphia to provide winter
coats to families in needForman Mills announced that the corporation is teaming up with Councilwoman Jannie Blackwell and Senator Tina Tartaglione to give out vouchers for winter gear on Thursday in the West Philadelphia Forman Mills store and the Rising Sun Avenue Forman Mills store to less fortunate individuals and families , pre-selected with the assistance of The Salvation Army and other charities.

iHeartRadio is also helping to give vouchers for the Give Back Giveaway on Thursday, February 12, 2015, between 3:00 and 7:00 p.m. at the two Forman Mills locations.

Rick Forman, CEO of Forman Mills, said, "We reached out to Councilwoman Jannie Blackwell and Senator Tina Tartaglione for recommendations and selection of needy people to receive the coat vouchers. They were more than happy to work with us on this project.

"The charities will give them a list of their neediest people in Philadelphia, so that we can provide them with a $25 voucher on Thursday which will allow them to 'purchase' a winter coat or other piece of cold weather gear. The Forman Mill stores will be stocked with enough coats and winter wear so that none of the pre-selected people will be disappointed."

Councilwoman Jannie Blackwell of West Philadelphia, and Senator Tina Tartaglione, of Northeast Philadelphia, thanked Rick Forman and Forman Mills for demonstrating that the business community has a heart and cares about the citizens who live in the Forman Mills store's area. "It is always heart-warming," agreed Blackwell and Tartaglione, "when a business leader shows his commitment to the well-being of people who live in the area."

The Salvation Army of Greater Philadelphia's Director of Operations, Major Robert Dixon commented, "We want to thank Rick Forman and Forman Mills for this wonderful gesture. This has been an especially hard winter for our clients, and the donation of coats and other cold weather clothing will certainly make life a little better for them."

The Sheridan Middle School in the Northeast is also partnering with Forman Mills.

Forman Mills store managers Tracey Murray and Audra Ruane will each have a list of names of those people at each location whom have been pre-selected to receive the $25 voucher.

WDAS radio personality Mimi Brown will be at the 48th and Market Street location, while Power 99 FM's Mutha Knows will appear at the Rising Sun location between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. to play music and give away station prizes.
