Meet Our Fitness Staff

Sometimes stepping up to a new fitness lifestyle can be uncomfortable. Our job as fitness specialists is to make you feel good about your workouts. And to do that we feel that knowing your personal trainer can go a long way to trusting your fitness plan. Our staff of fitness professionals are eager to get you started on the perfect (and most comfortable!) fitness plan for you.
 
SHAVONNE
Fitness & Recreation Manager

 
  • School: Pennsylvania State University
  • Degrees: Masters In Health and Wellness (Holistic Practices)
    B.S Kinesiology (Fitness Studies) with a dance minor
  • Certifications: AEA Aquatic Fitness Professional certification, Heartsaver CPR/AED
  • Area of Expertise: Aquatic fitness, Dance Fitness and training, Conditioning/toning, Group Exercise, Youth Fitness and Performing Arts
  • How do you motivate your clients?: I am a very hands on trainer. I verbally push them through their workouts and at times will physically join them for some extra motivation. I give constant reminders of the goals they are working towards. Pain won't last forever, however, no pain, no gain.
  • Favorite Activities: Dancing, Sleeping and chasing my kid around

  • How do you motivate your clients?: I strive to shape a program around my client’s goals and interests. I believe that with dedication, consistency, and motivation, that no aspiration is unreachable.

  • Area of Expertise: Boxing, Sports Performance, Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), Strength Conditioning, and Weightloss
  • How do you motivate your clients?: I sincerely believe that there is no ceiling when it comes to potential each and every one of us possesses. Therefore, the sky is the limit. You can look and feel however you want, but it takes sacrifice, hard-work, and dedication to achieve anything that is worthwhile. Trust me, you’ll hate me, but you will hate that you love me as well.
  • Favorite Activities: Anything that involves competition (ex. Boxing), me winning, or just relaxing with a mesmeric mademoiselle.
  • Favorite Food: : Married to Little Debbie for over 20 years. Sadly, I’m currently working on a divorce settlement.

  • Area of Expertise: Strength Training and Weight Loss
  • How do you motivate your clients?: "If you don't have faith in yourself, then you have nothing". It comes down to believing in yourself and I pick exercises that will challenge you (in a good way.) I try to make workouts fun so that they look forward to coming to each session.
  • Favorite Activities: Cooking, bike rides, and hikes in the summer time, and of course binge watching whatever's good on Netflix
  • Favorite Food: : Fresh fruit and anything related to Tex Mex!

  • How do you motivate your clients?: Personally, the quote that motivates me is "To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift". I verbally push my clients and encourage them to help them continue to believe in themselves
  • Favorite Activities: Long distance running, Watching sports/movies, spending time with my wife.
  • Favorite Food: : Wings, Carbs, anything with peanut butter.

  • Area of Expertise: Really teaching the fundamentals of the game of basketball which is extremely important on any level.
  • How do you motivate your clients?: When I have a client I am very positive, and I like to make my workouts fun and interactive. Positivity is key especially when you are teaching such a competitive sport.
  • Favorite Activities: Playing Basketball! Working Out, Playing Spades!
  • Favorite Food: : Chicken, Strawberries

  • How do you motivate your clients?: What has always stuck with me from an old coach of mine is the quote, “Mind over Matter.” That goes for anything you're doing in life. Anything can be achieved once you put your mind to it. It may not be easy but remember you are in control!
