Water Safety InstructorSchedule: Part-time, under 20 hours per week - Must be willing and able to work weekends and evenings as will be required in performance of duties or as requested to support the ongoing operations of the Kroc Center.
Position Description: The Water Safety Instructor provides swimming lessons for individuals of all ages and instructional levels. Additionally, this function assures the safe utilization of all aquatic areas by Kroc Center members and guests. The use of superior customer service in providing oversight of these areas is required. Must be able to be flexible in support of the Kroc Center team in all areas of center operation, as needed and assigned.
Requirements: High school diploma or GED or enrolled in a program designed to result in such achievement required. PA State lifeguard certification required. Prior work experience as a lifeguard in PA preferred. Current CPR/AED required. Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills required. Must be able to read, write and communicate in English; proficiency in oral and written communication skills. Must have ability to work and relate well with people. Child Protection Clearances PA Act 153 requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check. Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army. Must have an appreciation for and be able to embrace the Mission of The Salvation Army.
