Support Our Holiday Assistance Effort

The Adopt-A-Family Program serves a limited number of families who are experiencing extreme hardship during the Holiday Season. Families are selected from The Salvation Army Corps Community Centers, hospitals, and referral agencies throughout the city of Philadelphia. The common factor shared by all adopted families is their strong need for special care and extra assistance during Christmas. Families who are chosen to participate in this program have experienced the following crises during the past few months: death or extreme illness in the family, fire, recent incarceration of a parent, or women leaving abusive situations (to mention a few).

Each family is matched with one sponsor who will purchase gifts for each family member, including adults. The family profile lists each family member's first name, age, gender, and gift ideas. Families pick up their gifts a week before Christmas. We ask sponsors to spend a minimum of $100 per child in the family
