Christmas is quickly approaching. For some, this time of year is another financial hardship. Here at the Salvation Army, we are getting things in motion to start off the season and help those most in need. We have various ways to bring a merry Christmas to those we can help, but we need your help in doing so.
Our Red Kettle Campaign, our most familiar and visible tradition, begins November 14. Volunteers will be out ringing bells daily through December 24 (except Thanksgiving and Sundays).
The Salvation Army also distributes toys, clothes, and other gifts through our Holiday Toy Shoppe. For families in need, we have Salvation Army Angel Trees at both the Christiana and Concord Malls. This will allow shoppers to pick a name and gift to purchase. Children receive the gifts based on their wish list. Through this program, we try to ensure every child has a gift on Christmas morning. The Angel Tree runs November 13 through December 17 (except Thanksgiving).
Every child will also receive a stocking from our Toy Shoppe which has been filled by individuals, companies and service groups in Delaware. Families in need of food are given groceries for preparing their special Christmas meal.
With your support, The Salvation Army is able to work Christmas miracles for thousands of needy individuals and families each year through its various holiday programs and services.
You may only apply for the county in which you reside.
