The Salvation Army ensures kids are equipped with the tools they need to succeed, which starts by meeting their basic needs.

We take a holistic approach by providing programs with life-long impact such as character-building programs, summer camp opportunities, after-school education and more. At the core of all that we do for youth, fighting for them is synonymous with sharing God's love and grace.

The Salvation Army's Family Services encompass a range of programs to help individuals and families overcome daunting obstacles. We are committed to serve the whole person, mind, body, and spirit with integrity and respect, using creative solutions to positively transform lives.

We strive to empower people and to enable those in need to change their circumstances and overcome the challenges that stand in their way.

Childcare

Monday - Friday, 6:45 AM-5:30 PM

The Salvation Army Early Childhood Learning Center provides quality, affordable child care in a warm, nurturing environment. The program provides developmentally appropriate learning activities in the four major growth areas - physical, social, emotional, and cognitive. Children from ages six weeks to four years are eligible for this program.

Afterschool Program

Offered in New Castle and Kent Counties, our program is designed to provide quality care for children ages 5-12. It is available each weekday afternoon, and on all school holidays. We focus on fun and educational activities, including arts and crafts, homework assistance, games, sports, and field trips, in a safe environment.

This program is currently unavailable.

Summer Day Camp

All kids should get to experience the fun of summer camp! Our Summer Day Camp is for children 6-11 years of age. Children participate in weekly field trips, go swimming, create art, and attend music class. Camp runs from the middle of June through the middle of August from 7:45 am to 5:30 pm. The current cost will be posted and P.O.C. is accepted.

Camp has been on hold due to the pandemic. Please check back for updates and information on when camp will be back in session.
