Heather Cleveland, Case Manager

Heather has been the Case Manager at The East Stroudsburg Salvation Army for 22 years.

When I asked her why she chose to work here, she said, "I was raised in The Army so when I had a chance to actually put the beliefs I learned at church into practice, I jumped at it. All I ever wanted to do was help people."

With the help of grants,  Heather is able to help keep hundreds of families from being evicted each year with through our rental assistance program. We are also able to help hundreds more families keep their electric and water from being shut off and their heating fuel tanks full.

The countless number of people that Heather has been able to help over her 22 years of service to Monroe County is exactly her reason for loving what she does. "To help people through their most vulnerable and desperate times of crisis is amazing," she says. "To be able to help keep a woman and her children from becoming homeless or to keep a 90 year old woman warm in the dead of winter…" she stops talking as the words get caught, shakes her head and looks down.

"It is very humbling and I am very blessed to be able to work for an organization that is dedicated to doing the most good for people."
